1/2: Doughnuts, Cask Festival, AR Nutcracker
Snack on seasonal flavors at both locations of Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken - January specials include Boston Cream (dark chocolate glaze filled with white chocolate pastry cream), Lemon Poppy Seed (lemon poppy glaze filled with Meyer lemon curd), S'mores (chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate glaze topped with graham cracker crumble and a toasted marshmallow) and El Diablo (raspberry, lime tequila and Amaro glaze topped with candied ginger and lime.
This weekend, head to Via Umbria for a Chef's table four-course dinner featuring items like seasonal squash gnocchi and brasato with polenta and braised greens. At each course Chef Liam will be on hand to answer any questions and go into further detail of each dish. Tickets are $75 - optional wine pairings available.
Warm up from the arctic tundra with Momofuku's Hot-Cha Tea: tea, lemon and ginger done in the style of a milk punch with pisco, blackberry liqueur, zucca and cocchi ($12). Order it with your bowl of ramen and pork belly buns next time you're at the CityCenter eatery.
Bier Baron's inaugural cask festival will celebrate the bar's 7th anniversary with a competition where guests cast their vote for top pick of over 20 casks from breweries including 3 Stars, Right Proper, Atlas, Crooked Run and more. January 6, Tickets are $25.
