On November 16, four of DC's top chefs battled it out at DC Central Kitchen's 14th Annual Capital Food Fight. Utilizing secret ingredients Pork Loin, Broccolini and Oysters, chefs Douglas Alexander (Art and Soul), Hamilton Johnson (Honeysuckle), Bobby Pradachith (Thip Khao) and Miranda Rosenfelt (Sally's Middle Name) whipped up dishes that were later judged by Chef Joseph "JJ" Johnson, CNN's Anna Navarro, Washington Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman and TV show host and personality Adam Richman. Larger than life celebrity chef Jose Andres presided over the battle alongside chef Spike Mendelsohn, Tragaye Frasher and Fanny Slater of Food Network's "Kitchen Sink."At the end of the night the esteemed panel of judges crowned Miranda Rosenfelt as the winner.
As the battle waged on, over 1,200 guests moseyed throughout the event space sampling bites from over 80 restaurants. Highlights included beef tartare from BRABO, tuna poke nachos from Circa, and fluke tiradito from Ruta del Vino.
This year's Fight raised $638,000 in support of DC Central Kitchen's mission to provide culinary job training, community meals, healthy school food and combat disparities in food access.
