This Week: Dine-N-Dash, Sound-Aged Whiskeys, Capital Pride

It’s here, it’s here! The 6th Annual Dine-N-Dash is back and features over 30 of DC’s top restaurants offering endless tastes and sips of select items. Spend four hours traipsing up and down 14th Street or Penn Quarter - going to any of the participating restaurants as you please. Celebrity chefs Jose Andres and Andrew Zimmern will be on hand, making guest appearances at locations and joining in on the merriment. Tickets are $150 for general admission and $400 for VIP and can still be purchased here (move fast though, they’re selling quickly!). June 6th, 6 - 10PM.


The award-winning Milk Bar has opened its first flagship location this past weekend in Logan Circle, making it the brand’s third presence in DC. The newest outpost will feature an all-day cafe, innovation lab, hands-on classroom, and event space. Nosh on classics like cereal milk soft serve and birthday cake truffles as well as menu items exclusive to the Logan Circle location including a Sausage, Egg and Cheese Bomb and a seasonal Blueberry Pie Shake.


Sweetgreen launches two new seasonal items - the Salami + Spicy Pickled Veg Salad (Organic salami, basil, cabbage, spicy pickled vegetables, local feta, za’atar breadcrumbs, chopped romaine, organic arugula, charred tomato vinaigrette) and the Local Strawberries + Honey Yogurt in addition to bringing back crowd-favorites: the Mexican Corn Elote Bowl and the Spring Chicken. The seasonal offerings are available now - catch them before they’re gone!


Dine on discounted Indian fare at Pappe this week; the latest restaurant to join 14th street will offer guests 15% off on dinner service as part of their soft opening through June 11. The menu will have a Northern Indian influence with some items from the South; dishes include Samosas served with chutneys; Crab Pav - a Goan style crab cake; bone-in Goat Red Curry with garlic tomato chutney; Lamb Vindaloo and more.



Brunch at Tredici Enoteca at the St. Gregory Hotel. The Mediterranean wine bar and restaurant offers $15 unlimited mimosas (in addition to other signature brunch cocktails like the Bellini with fresh peach puree and a Bloody Maria made with mezcal and house-made tomato juice); pair your drinks with brunch plates inspired by the Mediterranean region (think Italy, Greece and the Middle East) including a Moroccan Egg Scramble; Bacon Wrapped Dates; a Mediterranean Board filled with hummus falafel, spreads and salads; Challah French Toast; and Avocado Toast served with a perfectly poached egg on top. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays from 11am - 3pm.

Sip on sound-aged whiskeys at the Quadrant Bar & Lounge located at The Ritz-Carlton. Lead Mixologist, Chris Mendenhnall, utilizes a sonic-sound wave technology to create a similar taste and quality comparable to other aged spirits. Mendenhall has used this technique to age a variety of whiskeys and bourbons, which you can taste in two ounce pairs and includes the “base” and the “aged” variations for comparison purposes. Price varies from $18 - $20; four pairing styles of bourbons and whiskeys available.
