This Week: Sweetgreen Returns to Georgetown, National Coffee Day Specials, Art All Night
Blue Duck Tavern recently unveiled a new lineup of light bites available exclusively at the Lounge. Enjoy smaller snacks (including Butter Dipped Crudites, Everything Spiced Chicharrons and Pickled Shrimp); Bar Jars (like Duck & Foie Gras Rillettes, Potted Smoked Bluefish, Sorghum-Roasted Peanuts and Marinated Olives) or opt for one of the Wine Bites - small dishes served on top of a three-ounce pour of wine.
Sweetgreen's first location reopened this week. The Georgetown spot has transformed into The Tavern, featuring it’s menu of fresh salads while also operating as a market stocked with high quality products and produce sourced from over 30 local farmers and brands….the best part? Sweetflow is back! The company teamed up with Dolcezza, to bring back the popular frozen yogurt.
Upcoming: In honor of National Seafood Month (seriously, how is it almost October?!), Seafood Nutrition Partnership will be kicking off the month with a fundraiser to support its mission to empower a healthier America through seafood nutrition. Snag tickets to the celebration which will feature bites from Gravitas, Ivy City Smokehouse & Tavern, Mi Vida, O-Ku, Rappahannock Oyster Co. and more!; Monday, Oct. 1; 6-9pm.
National Coffee Day is just around the corner (Saturday, 9/29). Get your caffeine fix with a number of specials around town:
Opt for caffeinated cocktails at Opaline - the brasserie's new line of coffee libations kicks off on National Coffee Day (and available on the brunch menu). It includes three offerings: Mexican Coffee Beam (Jim Beam, Ancho Reyes, White Crème de Cocoa, French press coffee), A Brew-Tiful Day in Ireland (Godiva Dark Chocolate, house-made chili syrup, Bailey's Irish Cream, cold brew coffee) and Ground for a Party (Noilly Prat sweet vermouth, Luxardo Maraschino liquor, cold brew coffee, club soda).
It may be fall, but ice cream is always top of mind for me - if you're the same, head to Le Diplomate for French-style coffee ice cream. Made in the traditional French glace style, Le Diplomate's Coffee + Whiskey ice cream will be available from 11am-4pm at the Les Glaces de Diplomate cart for $5.
DC’s overnight arts festival returns this Friday - venture out into six of DC’s main streets to experience a mix of visual and performing arts including painting, photography, sculpture, crafts, fashion and more featured in both indoor and outdoor spaces. Participating neighborhoods include Congress Heights, Dupont Circle, H Street, Deanwood Heights, Shaw, Tenleytown, Minnesota Ave, and North Capitol. RSVP here.
